Halloween Hooplah!
I can't believe October is already coming to a close! This year has really flown by. It's funny how that happens as you get older. Your days become consumed by work and other obligations and before you know it, those days start to add up! I hope that you will take a minute to slow down this weekend and remember what (or who) you're living for. Oh, and have some of that candy you bought, too. The neighborhood kids already have enough cavities.
We're having some friends over Saturday night (official Trick or Treat night for the OKC area) for pizza, pumpkin ale, apple cider, festive snacks, corny scary movies, and of course, to pass out those sugary snacks to our ghoulish visitors! I'm so excited. Ryan said that since Halloween is my favorite holiday we can make a fun weekend out of it!
What are your plans? Are you dressing up? I can't wait to see all the costumes around the blog world. They're always so creative! Well, whatever you decide to do, be SAFE and have FUN! I'll see you back here Monday morning!
Happy weekend, friends. You truly make my days wonderful.

Jack-o-Lanterns
Isn’t this amazing?! Look at all those pumpkins! Carving pumpkins is one of my favorite Fall activities! But guess what… this month has been so crazy that we haven’t even purchased any pumpkins! Maybe I’ll grab a couple tonight and surprise Bear… But here are my Pumpkins Past…
Last year it was Batman Jack for Ryan, a Vampire skeleton for me, and of course a bone for Lucy:
Friends came to carve Pumpkins at a super fun Carving Party!
The one in the foreground was mine:
So fun. Are you going to carve one this year? I’ve seen a lot of REALLY great painted pumpkins this year too! This is the best time to do it, so they’re still fresh when little Trick-or-Treaters come to your door! Happy carving!

Handmade Wedding
I just the little details of Miss Minx's wedding! Dana and Sheldon had the most perfect handmade wedding. Every little detail was taken into account and lovingly crafted. And what a stunning result!
She even made her own bridesmaid dresses AND her own wedding dress. Yeah. You read correctly. She's a mad woman, this one. And it looks SO fabulous on her!
**UPDATE** Dana's big day was photographed by the fantastically talented Juniper Photography. Be sure to check out their site for more of their beautiful photography, and go here for more handmade wedding goodness.
Congrats, Dana and Sheldon!

The Makings of a Vacation: Gatlinburg Edition
I can’t believe our little Fall road trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee is already over… we had such a great time with our family. Our nephews are growing so tall and quickly becoming more and more agile and sneaky in their getaway attempts. The smoky mountains are truly breathtaking and I can’t even begin to describe the feeling that comes with standing in the middle of a field and just taking in all of God’s glory that surrounded us… Here are a few of my favorite snaps from the trip:
Now we’re back to reality… have a fantastic week!

R&R
Usually, I'm a really horrible vacationer. It's not that I'm a workaholic, but I'm really big on scheduling and organizing, so I feel like I can never just let the hours pass doing relaxing stuff. I always feel the need to plan! But this week has been GREAT so far! We're spending time with family, seeing beautiful sites and just generally enjoying gorgeous fall weather.
I hope you're having an awesome week too! Don't forget to sit back and relax a little... or I'll just relax a little extra for ya!

It’s Monday, Friends… or is it?
Somehow, it happened again… it’s Monday. But this Monday is awesome. Do you know why? Because this Monday is my Friday!! I’m on vacation for the rest of the week and I couldn’t be happier! Unfortunately for yous kids, it also means I’m going to be making myself as scarce as possible online in an attempt to disconnect and recharge. But don’t worry, I’ll check in here and there.
I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Kiki & Polly
I can't get over the beautiful, quiet, simplicity of Kiki and Polly's amazing artwork... it's just breathtaking...
Kelly recently won her very own Kiki & Polly portrait from Miss Joanna's giveaway. I'm super jealous...
I've bookmarked this page and sent the link to Ryan... subtle hints...

The Makings of a Weekend
I spent Sunday afternoon with Lucy on a blanket under our favorite tree. The leaves have finally started turning a bit. It was perfection…
How was your weekend?
