Dakota Fanning

Looks so pretty and grown up in the August issue of Marie Claire magazine! I love the sort of school girl-glam-rock theme in the shoot.

She’s only sixteen, but it’s so funny to her with front teeth and sans short little blonde bob! Quite a departure from this:

p.s. have I mentioned how much I am loving the pale skin trend? I have long since accepted that I am a pasty pale Scottish girl with no claim to any sort of pigment, but it’s fantastic to finally see others embracing the same! Pale girls, unite!

I hope your week is going smoothly. I’m already wishing it were Friday!!

Wow, look at her! I remember first watching her in I am Sam. I loved her instantly.

I really like the fact that she still plans to attend college and has not taken the bad road like other young movie stars have in the past.

Eeeeeeeh!! I'm freaking out right now. I love Dakota and am always looking out for new things she's doing. I think I need to go out and buy a Marie Claire right away so I can blog about this photo shoot too - it's stunning!! Thank you for sharing this.

I'm not liking the big hair in the 3rd and 4th pic. Why do they do that to people in magazines?!...

oh my gosh, crazy! i feel like these child actors grow up faster than i do!? that probably sounds strange, but i thought she was still 10! so adorable now, and her outfits... amazing. if only i could wip up some looks like that every day!

she is still adorable! And I totally agree about the pale thing. People stare at me here in El Paso because I'm so white

Isn't it weird?! And Leah, when I did a mission trip to Mexico extra precautions were made to keep my friend Jill and I in a secure group because we were so blonde and pale it was like we were a novelty in the villages. People would grab our hair or arms and stare. Super weird. We had to wear long pants and bandanas over our hair most of the time! Mexico likes pale girls. Come on, USA. Get with it!
